Melissa Loza was born in Tijuana, Baja California, México. As a dancer she started her training in classical ballet, jazz, spanish and modern dance. She has studied with the “Gloria Campobello Dance School” since 2004; she has taken part in many different productions in which she performed in the Mexican cities of Tijuana, Ensenada, and Mexicali, as well as cities in the United States such as Los Angeles. In October 2006 Melissa joined the Minerva Tapia Dance Group, where she has performed in festivals such as “Tijuana’s Cultural Center 24th. Anniversary”, “9th International Dance Showcase Bodies in Motion”, “XI Binational Choreographic Showcase”, and “DanzOpera”, among others. She has performed with the company in Los Angeles, CA, Flagstaff, AZ., Sinaloa, México and New York. Loza is currently a student at Escuela de Danza Gloria Campobello and is pursuing a B.A. in Dance.
